The Redstrand Content Management System (CMS) is the engine behind this site. It allows Redstrand staff to easily manage every aspect of our website content.
Every piece of content on our site is managed by our web based CMS. This includes the images and text within the flash banner on the homepage.
We can easily add or edit our site without having to get a developer involved.
The requirements for our site are quite basic. We just need a site that has the standard set of company brochure pages (Our services, Portfolio, Contact, Location, etc) along with the ability to post blogs. You can also register and sign in to our site if you want to post a comment on one of our blogs, but essentially the site is quite simple.
Because, at our core, we are developers we didn’t really think we needed a content management system to keep our site updated. We know code, we know HTML, CSS, .NET, etc - if we want to update our site we can just open up the hood and do it manually.
But it just doesn’t work that way. When you are working on a blog or updating the “Our Services” section of your site, you don’t want to be mixed up in positioning div tags or getting the correct style for the heading text. You just want to focus on writing the blog or editing the services content.
And because it is so easy now to update our site, we do it more often, keeping it fresh and relevant for our visitors!
